Family Mediation

Mediation provides the tools families need to address stressful life changes and events in a manner that preserves the family relationships and enables them to make the challenging decisions that need to be made outside of court.
Types of issues mediated:
- Care of elder family members
- Family financial issues
- Blended-family decision-making
- Post-divorce family decision-making
- Conflicts associated with aging, such as driving, living arrangements, level and quality of care
- Bill paying and finances, health care matters and end of life decisions.
- Family communication
- Property maintenance
- Inheritance and estate issues
- Caregiver burnout
- Roles and responsibilities
- Assistance to avoid court
Who should attend?
Anyone
involved in the situation – family members, neighbors, caretakers, to
provide everyone the opportunity to participate in the decisions which affect
a loved one or themselves.
When should I mediate?
Preferably
before a crisis develops to plan for anticipated changes, but mediation can
generally be done at any time, even if the matter has gone to litigation.
